Designed by Robert Trent Jones, The Golf Club Marbella is a long course at 6,500 metres off the back tees, and the opening holes are crossed by ravines and gulleys which require accurate and brave tee shots. The 4th hole, a par three, is just tee and green where everything in between is bandit country. There is only one alternative-hit the green otherwise all is lost. After the opening shocks the course settles until the fearsome 11th, a severe dogleg right with hills, valleys and seagulls who occasionally steal golf balls!. The 12th is a sheer pleasure with magnificent and memorable sea views from the raised tees. Displaying the usual Robert Trent characteristics The Golf Club Marbella is a difficult but enjoyable challenge. The clubhouse is strategically placed and has an excellent restaurant and one of the coas´s best stocked Pro Shops.
