Royal Las Brisas is one of the ultimate challenges to club golfers and professionals. This Robert Trent Jones design opened in 1969 and is recognised as one of Europ´s finest courses. Having hosted the World Cup twice, the Spanish Open three times and the Mediterranean Open playing here represents an achievement in any golfe´s yearbook. A typical Trent Jones design it features raised greens and numerous, strategically placed sand traps. Water is a major feature and must be crossed or avoided on twelve holes. Beware of the three opening holes which require concentration but are not especially difficult, they are a deceptive introduction to the following fifteen. Another resident of Marbell´s Golf Valley, Royal Las Brisas welcome visitors all year although members do have priority. The course is now managed by Jan Sonnevi who took over in June 1996.
