Open since 1966 Atalaya Old Course underwent a long overdue revival under the direction of Mel Pyatt. The parkland course, designed by Bernhard von Limburger, offers wide fairways and fast elevated greens. All holes are lined with Eucalyptus and pine which act as natural hazards and give shade in the summer. Thanks to the choice of tee positions at each hole Atalaya is ideal for less expert players but it also plays host to a number of pro-ams and professional tournaments each year. Practice facilities are excellent and include one of the largest driving ranges in Spain. It has 60 bays, and the Mariano Cabanillas directed golf school offers tuition in different languages. Atalaya Golf & Country Club is now managed by Derek Brown who has just completed an extensive re-seeding programme to bring all fairways and greens up to top class condition.rn
